My dear Sir

Knowing by happy experience your too kind solicitude about your unworthy friend, I write a line to assure you that after being in bed a Month this day, I am, thro the mercy of God, now sitting up on my Sofa, and improving daily in health and strength. My appetite is better, the nausea has diminished, the cough disappeared, and a tolerable night sometimes granted me. I have every cause for gratitude to my heavenly Father, and to my kind earthly Physician. Mr. James has been very careful and attentive, in following your kind instructions. He has not yet allowed me to see a Creature. My kind nurse Miss Frowd joins me in best regards to Mrs. Carrick & you.

Will you forgive my taking the liberty of desiring your acceptance of a few grapes?

Ever my dear Sir
most faithfully yours
whilst Hannah More
